2 More Birthday boys

Im finding these daily birthday sketches very addictive, so much so that im forgetting to do the fundamental things like go to work , shower and eat. So as i sit here emaciated with flies buzzing round my crotch i give you Joe Summatorutha ( cant remember his feckin name) and George Harrison

Jason's Christening

First gig of 09, Jasons Christening. Its good to be drawing live again, ive missed it over the quiet winter months. Obvious rustiness to start but got moving eventually. Seem to be having problems with my 'Markettes', they dry up after only 3 faces, i used 3 today which is shite. Think il go back to Copics after this batch, i prefer the ink quality as well with them. Anyway, thanks to Pete for looking after me and keeping the beer coming!

Some Old Marker Work

I was just having a tidy up and came across these 3 quick marker sketches. I did them about 18 months and its always good to draw a comparison to how im drawing now. I remember drawing these as a practice for my first live gig and was attempting to use markers without pencil first. By the way, its Steven Gerrard , Kate Moss and Kylie as if you needed telling!

Snow- Boarding Adventures

Ive always fancied a do at snowbaording, so i got meself some beginners lessons at the fantastic Chill Factore near the Trafford Centre at Manchester. Now at 16 stone and having the finesse of a schizophrenic bull elephant i thought i may struggle. How right i was!!But after persevering and taking some heavy falls and resultant bruising i entered a stage of semi- shite-ness and now 3 lessons later can put together a couple of linked turns. Dont get me wrong i still look like a fat man on an ironing board but it was great fun and il be back for more. Heres a pic of my lovely instructor 'Wah'. I drew her from memory and presented it to her after the last lesson for her great instruction and patience, she was great! I think she liked it too..

My First UK Mini Con

Held near Stanstead last Friday the UK mini con attracted about 25 caricature enthusiasts from all around the UK, Europe and even Mattski from Dubai. It was quite nervewracking for me meeting these guys whose work i had admired for ages. I needn't have worried though as i was made to feel welcome straight away and got into drawing almost immediately. So much talent but so little time ,the evening flew past. I drew loads but only managed to snap a couple of examples of my work on the night. Thanks guys for a great time

Joe Stevens

Just been to my first UK Mini Con Near London. Met some great, talented guys and had a hoot .The only trouble was it passed too quickly and the bar closed at 11.More about that next post as i had to get this piece done by tomorrow. This is my mate Joe Stevens who retires from the Fire Service after 30 years .Great nose on him, its rumoured that when Joe has a cold the amount of snot that comes down this mutha would put out a barn fire.Joe loves his gee-gees and his football and he'l be missed on Blue Watch, for what i dont know, as he is bone idle!! JOKE. Have a long, happy retirement Joe
